Your first visit will consist of a consultation and examination, when Dr. Kuepper will review your dental and medical histories, and all appropriate imaging studies (e.g. x-rays). He will then discuss your diagnosis and your proposed surgical care with you. Some patients’ presenting concerns or medical histories are more complicated than others. For routine, uncomplicated treatment plans, such as a single tooth extraction with local anesthesia for a healthy patient, Dr. Kuepper is often able to accomplish that surgery during the initial visit. More involved treatment plans (to include patients desiring intravenous sedation) and complicated medical histories will require that the surgery be scheduled at a subsequent visit.
Please assist us in making the best use of your time and ours by providing all of the following information at the time of your initial consultation visit:
– Your surgical referral slip from your dentist and any x-rays given to you.
– A list of all medications you are presently taking and any known drug allergies or adverse reactions.
– All medical and dental insurance identification cards.
Please alert us if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to surgery, (e.g. heart disease, artificial heart valves, joint replacements or any prior or current prescriptions for drugs to treat osteopenia or osteoporosis). IMPORTANT: All patients under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or a legal guardian during all visits to this office. If you are 18 or older and financially responsible for your own care, a parent may still be helpful at your initial appointment to help you with various treatment decisions.
